NICOLAITES

In Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave, Florence AT met with women involved in community life to explore the connections between individual lives and the collective history of the region. Portraits, documentary photographs, life stories, and family archives combine to create a work exploring memory, transmission, and the bonds between people.

 

The exhibition unfolds in two installations. In the Stables room, each woman has an intimate space combining photography, narrative, and objects, centered around a large portrait reinterpreted with the local patchwork club. Under the market hall, photographs of their early childhood are printed on large, suspended curtains, juxtaposing who they have become with who they once were.

 

A residency supported by the DRAC Occitanie, conducted with the municipality of Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave.
